Smoking!!!

As a smoker, i'm just wondering about the no smoking ban-and how it's gonna affect us old skool ravers...i mean can u imgane turning up to an old skool event an dancing for six or so hours without having a ciggy..that's if there is anybody there tht is, how's gonna affect our clubbing regime???

Im a smoker too m8 - tbh im hoping theres gonna be designated areas at such events etc or at least a smoking room or summat - if not im im spitting my dummy out and raving in my front room dunno really tbh whats gonna happen - cant see them wanting to let folk in and out all night long to smoke :| will ruin my night out if i cant have a cig while im boogying soi just wont do it!!! Id like to be able to give up but thats only gonna happen when i say so and not when the government say so

Im afraid there aint gonna be any smoking rooms at all. Ive heard that Turnmills is thinking of using a hand stamp system so if you want a fag you can get your hand stamped and go out and come in again...bet you have to que or somink to get back in :S

Been Edinburgh 3 time in last year - works well up there. Everywhere allows you out. I can't wait for it come in!

LOL I was speaking to some one to do with work yesterday, he told me hes moving to Barcelona when the ban comes in to play on 1st July...Renting his house out and moving his business out there...happy daze

I love a ciggy when I'm clubbing, but a cig is not more important than meeting up with mates for a boogy to top tunes. If a cig had that much sway over me. .. . it would be time to quit smoking if you get my drift!!!

I would rather rave with my pals than sit at home with the radio and a cig.

I think it will be hard at first, but we will all get used to it just as they have in all the other countries, I mean if the Italians can stick to it we can! I actually look forward to it despite my love of a cig. I will wake up feeling a lot better the next day and not stinking like shite!

lol i just dont fancy the idea of bein stuck somewhere gagging for a cig n not bein able to have one! of course seeing friends is important - but in all honesty i dont go out a great deal these days anyway - i usual socialise at home with my mates so works out well for me

smoking ban works well up here in scotland and there has been no problems at all clubbing or pubbing it, experienced it in new york and eire prior to that as well

most clubs have a place you can go outside to smoke

the non-smokers do not have to be polluted by the poison shite from other folks ciggies and you wake up in the morning with clothes that do not stink the house out

the law is not so much to stop people smoking but to protect people in the workplace, it is an HSE issue

one of the best things the scottish assembly has done so far

lets face it smoking is for mugs (i have been stopped 7 years and smoked for about 20 previous to that)

Ah Buckfast. . . .I remember drinking that on a plane to Barcelona, when the Scot's were playing Spain. This Jock was not supposed to have it on the plane, but when the stewardess approached to tell him off, he just looked and she walked off!!
