Etc etc etc. Im waiting for another box to be posted through including a unreleased test pressing by White Knight which should be interesting.

My contact did try and sell me circa 300 BMX records which did very little for me, US electronic pop, simply were not worth the postage cost to the UK.

Regarding favorites, I have 3 gems of tracks

All of these were bought together in a magical mix by Farley Funkin Keith 1985 on WBMX which to me was their stand out show. I do have alot of unsorted cd's of mixes from Chicago which I will sort out one day.

Yes early Chicago, BMX, Warehouse and Muzic Box, all my kind of music although I do have a soft spot and a few UK acid house, upto 93 laid back Italian and hardcore with a mix of some early progressive.....all in all circa 2500 recs now.

Looks like a good party although too far for me and by the pictures of the previous nights will make me feel old!! It looks like many of the records (sorry tracks as does not seem like the technics are being used) are older than the people.

Regarding BMX and Italio, not many people in the UK were aware due to WBMX etc being Chicago based and Italian Disco, well being Italian. To be honest before Discogs I found it almost impossible to pick up BMX records, yeah most dealers would have Kraftwerk etc but not Cyberton etc. and if they did they wanted a small fortune for it. Now for example I picked up the original pressing of Cybotron Enter for $5. I got my On & On black label for $4 etc as I was buying when guys in Chicago were selling up and not realy knowing how rare their records were. The black label On & On was claimed to be the very first (im not sure of this though) house record ever pressed with on 500 released in Chicago only. Thanks to the internet I now have a copy sat safely in Tunbridge Wells with 2 white label copys keeping it company.

Unfortunately ask most people and they will say the first house record was Jack Your Body or House Music Anthem of No Way Back due to all being bought up by London Records and formally released over here as part of the Chicago House tour of 87.

Some lovely info Simian - you are a wealth of knowledge and good point about the effects of tour 87!

Seems a shame they don't have turntables to play at the party! Where else can you hear Yazoo on a large system whilst having a drink though..

Hope at some point if ever in TW I hear Deborah Haslam blaring from your Italo/bmx den!
