Possibly the worst pain ever?

I went to the dentist today after absolute excruciating pain, turns out I picked up an abstract tooth which spread to 2 of my teeth. Well the dentist has refereed me to a oral surgeon to have the work carried out but my appointment aint until 12th January. So now I am totally miserable having to take Lortab pain medicine which basically makes me feel high for an hour then the pain comes back Got antibiotics which should help but another 3 weeks of this shit I'm gonna go insane. Scared to eat/drink because it may bring on the pain.

hard luck Ste m8 ive got an abcess at the moment but its calmed down thank fook, been having toothache for 2 months now cos of two broken teeth and getting dentist appointments these days is hard work to say the least, oh and im now flirting with codine addiction:S but what ur going thru sounds proper grim, hope the antibiotics work for ya

Sorry to hear that mate, toothache is the devils work. I found that loads of iboprufen dulled it a bit.

Orajel® Maximum Strength Toothache Pain Relief Gel

The big supermarkets that have a dedicated pharmacy counter sell it.

It's not cheap, but it's good gear. Squeeze a bit on yer gum & it'll numb you up goodstyle till you can get to the dentist. Nowt worse than toothache... it's not bad pain necessarily but pisses you off cos it's nagging & incessant.

When I smashed a tooth a while back that stuff was a godsend. Using it twice a day I was able to get proper sleep & it took all the pain away.

It's about 6 quid a tube, and you might have to hunt around a bit for it but it's well worth it. I make sure I've always got some around these days for business trips and stuff.

Clove Oil (often called Toothache Tincture) helps ease it too. Tastes like shite but when in need anything will do (and it worked in Marathon Man, surely the worst toothache related film sequence ever!!!)

You reckon they would have sorted you quicker back here? At least some emergency stuff?

Nah I don't think they would have done it quicker in the UK, when I was going work offshore in Aberdeen, I went through my physical and I had a cracked a tooth about a week before. I was told that I had to have this tooth fixed within 4 months of my contract starting if not it would be terminated. It took me 2 months to get an appointment to get it fixed

I have some of that orajel stuff and find it doesn't work at all, if you put a bit on the tongue it instantly goes numb but don't do nothing for my tooth Like the dentist said to me he said it was real deep the abcess, hence he would have to go over the Novocaine threshold to fix it out hence why putting me to sleep though an oral surgeon would be better. I almost had the urge to say just rip em out lol but no I wanna keep my teeth.

I aint tried that clove oil yet but may give it a whirl, I know an ice cube pressed directly onto the gum works for 5 mins but fook me its a horrid feeling

Toothache is the worse pain ive ever had , i think id rather have broken my leg at the time tbh , i feel for u mate its bad shit . Mine was killing me , i couldnt do anything , Toothache at its worse comes b4 everything else , everything else takes a back seat . Mine was giving me real bad headaches 2 , I just took cocodamol all day , counting down the hours before i could take 2 more , i hope u get it sorted soon bud n the pain easys off

ste the anibiotics should blitz it m8 by weekend i'd say (thats if its the infection/abcess thats causing u the most pain) for now get some codine based painkiller (if u havent been prescribed any, get some 'paramol' over the counter, i think they have the strongest codine ur allowed to buy) take em with ibuprofen, with food. hope ya get better:|

Why does it trick you into thinking its gone away? All day yesterday was bliss no pain meds, thought the antibiotics had done their job and today blamo back with a vengance. ggrrrrrrrrr

If I had a time machine for once I would skip back in time and bypass the early 90's for these days

Kin ell could write a book on dentists/ teeth an hellish times surrounding .. Im half way thro my life sentence on the teeth front (slight exaggeration as is been 2 yrs) an will be 20 grand down by the time im done :| :S Hopefully haha

Its a Painful experience to say the least ... chin up tho cocker and 400mg ibuprofen (over the counter from Boots always work best for me )

Nothing wosre spent 2 months in agony through abcesses and ended up in hospital with stomach ulcers due to the pain killer intake :S Hope you get sorted soon mate, feel for you

Well thats the deed done turns out I had to get all my 4 wisdom teeth out never even knew they were there and they caused damage to other teeth also. So in total they took 9 of the fookers out, luckily all affected were at the back so you cant see it lol. But fuck Its gonna be sore but Im sure these Oxycodone - Percocet are going to help, space days ahead for me lol

At least when its all healed Ill not have that toothache again

I had to have four out in the hospital when I was about 22 due to a dodgy dentist did fillings that leaked got infected... They were molars so yo cant see unless I have an ear to ear grin. Was always amazed how quickly I got used to the gaps. Have to be careful brushing what teeth ya still got next to ya gaps m8 be dead gentle on ya gums.

Jesus had some horror stories with dentists sware they cause problems a lot of the time
