Actually I remember reading somewhere that one of the old chicargo Dj's (can't remember who ) bought a house to store his 30,000 plus tunes in and it burnt down

I heard a rumour / or read it that he was living in a large rented mansion and had all the tunes there.
It would be like a kid in a candy shop if you ever got in there.
I read that he had them all in a warehouse where his office is, this is going back a few years now though......?!......he's living in New York at the moment right, can't see him shipping them all over there, so must have a place over here somewhere.....I think he used to have a small office in Notting Hill somewhere......but again......time ago?!

If he lives in NYC (who could blame him ?) & his tunes are in the UK then he must have a ripping monkey to convert his vinyl to MP3 so he can play it in Ableton... assuming he plays any old tunes these days...

He has people who gather new tunes for him and rip them if required and up then onto a server that he can access anywhere in the world via internet.
He plays a few old ones now and again, a bit like Digweed

Sander kleinenberg sold off all his vinyl about 2 years ago to a Dutch record store who then split and sold it on.
Sasha's not really a classics man. His musics always about going forward. A lot of the time when he plays older tracks they have usually been updated. Some times people miss them completely. I remember Creamfields 2001 he dropped Slacker - Scared. Me and my mate went crazy. Most other people didn't notice, maybe they hadn't herd it who knows

I read a couple of years ago that he had 30000 vinyl and employed some people to sort them all out into some sort of order and it took them six months to do!
i also read recently that he still collected vinyl, thats where he got the idea to bring out his limited edition emfire vinyl with the art work on it.

no way has he only got 30000 tunes, half the peeps on ere have got 10 thousand?
I'm probably in that region but problably owned 15000 over the years in total, he probably used to receive a 100 promos a week? he's probably got 300000
I'm going to be a right kill joy and say I'm not right bothered where Sasha's records are!
I do know I get hassle about the piddling 2000 I have and how much space they take up. It is however, less space than her flock of coats, pride of bags and herd of shoes occupy.

Yeah he mite receive 100 promos a week but he didn't keep them all. Sasha used to get his records from Massive records in Oxford where i used to live. They would get sent records to forward to him. Massive would send them to Sasha and then Sasha would return the ones he didn't want. Then Massive would sell them in the shop. Whats the point in keeping records you would never play. Massive had this arrangement with most DJ's only unestablished DJ's would have to pay for what they kept.

Stevie W- if you're reading this thread (& possibly spitting at the screen lol ) when he was your warmup man @ Shaboo (had to emphasis that point for you ) I'm guessing that both of you were still paying for tunes as the culture was still in its infancy ?
I reck that 91 Eclipse/Shelleys time or deffo 92 Rennaisance onwards he didn't have to.
