Favourite son of wor village.
Never heard of anyone with a bad word to say about him.
His treatment by the press back in 1990 was an absolute disgrace.
Whatever people think of Newcastle, his 'homecoming' as manager was a very very special time, and despite all the jokes about his age, he proved yet again that he had the midas touch.
Gutted, I met the man, he signed an England shirt for me, and amongst the masses, looked me in the eye and listened to what I had to say. A true gent.
So glad he managed to watch one last game at St. James.
RIP Sir Bobby.
I didnt realise he had battled cancer so many times- what a horrible flesh eating desease it is our modern day plauge in my opinion- it ravishes people beyond recognition
