I know it's been asked before but could anyone tell us where there are any decent second hand record shops in London?

The Record Exchanges are always a good crack if you want to find some bargains, and you have plenty of time on your hands. There's quite a number of them, get their address from here. http://www.mveshops.co.uk/info/locations.htm. I've bought some right bargains out of the Notting Hill Gate shop.

Reckless Records (Berwick Street) is pretty good, but they don't stock much in the way of house, if that's what you're after.

South East London
There are two REckless in Berwick Street. One of which is devoted just to "dance" music. It has a really quick turn ove of stock hence the reason for it's dimunitve appearnce. They do however have a larger dance section in UPPER STREET(neares tube is ANGEL) and they will check stock in other branches via a cetralised database.

Also in BErwick street is Daddy Cools, Sister Ray, Video and Music Exhchange etc etc. Just the otehr side of SOho (Rupert Street) is a huge shop that has it's top floor devoted to dance music ...

November is usually a great time for pciking up bits as (sadly) it is the time of year when peopl neeed cash a nd thus sell thier collections to such shops...

I have just realised that I am a geek...

Sorry

Up North, pint o tetley
back in august

i went
to nottinghill gate
on the tube

red central line or yellow / green line

when you come out of the station (what a dump)
turn left along the street 3/4 music / video shops
a bit like vinyl exchange in manc

but if you turn right along the street outside the tube
turn first right into the next street, before burger king mcd's

the way everyone goes anyway and about 100 metres on right hand side their is a second hand record shop
(nb loads of old' second hand cloths / junk shops all the way down that street

in the shop
nottinghill gate VE
vinyl's20 pence a throw.........i was their about 2 hours

and got a bout 20/30 italian stamped beauty's
plus the entire back catologue of reactivate cd's
for £2/3 each
which made a mint on ebay

remember (unlike myself) if you looking to go to campden its in a different zone, so you'll need a more expensive underground ticket

Cheers for that everyone.

To cut a long story short I only managed a very quick look down Berwick St on Thursday before I had to fire off with work. Then I had to come back home Friday afternoon. Needless to say I was a tad annoyed with not being able to have a proper delve:cry: Oh well least I know where they are for next time.
