Back oop north!
www.
Have any of you read any good books recently?

I'm just reading the Da Vinci Code, which I've been told is brill. I'm only on chapter 3 though so I'm not totally into the story yet.

I've also just finished a book called Dangerous Lady by Maritna Cole and I've been told her other books are fab too. I'd never heard of her before but I was so into the book that when Retro came round the other night, I fell sleep on him reading my book... he wasn't impressed!!! Lol.

I also really like Patricia Cornwell's stuff. Really gritty with good attention to detail and very gripping storylines throughout the series.

I'm also reading David O'Leary's book about the year Leeds were in all the papers with the Woodgate/ Bowyer trial. It's ok so far but a bit boring as most of it is about their performance duting that season and I knew that cos I was there. I'll persevere though to see what happens.

Are any of you guys readign anythign good at the mo??? And Shooms, Penthouse and Big Minge aren't classed as books :bj:

They don't tell you but "da vinci" code is second book, "Angels & Demons" stars Robert Langdon in his first saga...makes no difference though as there's little mention in D.C.

anyway back to question

...All Dan Brown books are very good But my fvourites books are

Irvine Welsh

he's absolutely brilliant, proper twisted..messed up...dirty....bit like half of people on here then!

Just a shame i've read them all and there's no new ones out

Da Vinci Code was dire i thought, but i did learn a couple of things i didnt know so it was at least useful for something.

reading 'Cloud Atlas' at the mo, its different, but i've enjoyed most of it.

agree about Irvine Welsh, you could say he's a one trick pony but his books are funny as fuck and i always have enjoyed the ones i've read. 'Glue' dragged a bit in some parts, but still mainly a top read.

On Cloud 9!!!
Little Green Man by Simon Armitage

top read and very very funny with a serious twist to it ;)

Its set in Yorkshire and is about a gang of friends (lads) who grew up together in the late 70's early 80's. They re-gather each other later in life (now)and thats where the whole storey begins  Defo one for the lads too, as its mainly focusd on them and their antics (boys will be boys lol) any bloke will identify with this book as well as many of the girlies

Im not a massive reader but when sumthing takes my fancy i get right into it, this book did, and i couldnt put it down

9/10 :king:

'Sheepshagger' by Niall Griffiths is brilliantly written and not for the faint hearted.
Set in Wales (funnily enough)- I loved every page of it, lot of pill taking, gruesome murders etc.....

Hiya Doolz,

If you have time / or can be bothered :) would you explain as easy peasy as you can a little about quantum physics please.

There is a film I want to go and see and it's all about quantum physics and natural law. I did do a search and had a brief look but it went over my head within the first few sentences :S

I've half read that...had to take it back to the library though, coz my time had expired. Couldn't get right into it though, its quite interesting though.

I've just finished a book by Matt Haig called 'The last family in England' its a dogs eye view of his family and the troubles of everyday life, its a really good book, but it does have a sad ending. :(

and i've just started reading Murray Walkers autobiography and its fantastic! :)

Loved da Vinci Code, loved Angels and Demons even more, anything by Irvine Welsh filthy, dirty, sick :$ ... .... fantastic read ! :) for a bit of raunch (for the girls) can't beat a bit o Jilly Cooper or Louise Bagshaw for a more updated modern ruder version. Also love anything by Marianne Keyes especially Rachael's Holiday and anything by Maeve Binchy favourite of hers is Evening Class. John Grisham, very very samey though, read quite a few of his but still always a good read, The Firm is really good and Rainmaker.

Celestine Prophecy :D :) :king: and if you love it then read The tenth Insight as well (the follow on)

Gotta give it to Judy Blume "Are you there god it's me Margaret" (a must for any girl to read between being 10-12 ) Enid Blyton The Magic faraway Tree !!! :king: All Harry Potter books.

And I'll leave it there as the list is endless, I love to read until I can no more :fekked:

dianne the elegant universe that butty wants to send you is by the same chap that wrote the fabric of the cosmos

as for explaining quantum physics i dont think id be much good im affraid
all il say is theres no frame of reference in teh natural world u have to suspend logic to begin to grasp it (i dont pretend to understand it by the way been reading about it for 3 yrs now and bits are sinking in slowly)

but if u wanna waffle about how amazing teh universe is give us a pm sometime

heres a link to watch the elegant universe (links under resources on the right side of the page)
