I work in the finance industry for one of the major banks, (no I'm not a hedge funder or owt like that), I'm in IT, but I too was forced to take a 10% pay cut or hand in my notice.
That didnt just affect me either, it applied to many contractors I work with, I smypathise with anyone going through this cos its a right kick in the teeth!
