I've been using Sony MDRV-700s for years now - good sound, really robust and reasonably priced at around £80.00. They are used week-in, week-out at gigs and are still going strong (although it has to be said the can-linings are getting a little worn now - maybe I should notify Santa. :D )

I swore by Senny HD25's but always ended up getting wrapped up in the lead lol... over time the leads / connections (both into the cans & into the mixer) have become unstable...

I've recently bought these & have to say they are immense.... the lead is coil wrapped so no being tied up in knots... they are LOUD !!!! (louder than the Sennys) & have different EQ / frequency filters.... plus they have a blue LED BPM thang is that's your thing (not for me but cool as a novelty)

Bought some Seinheiser HD25's after asking the same question on here a while back, chuffed to bits with them, the sound quality is amazing, they go way louder than I'm prepared to turn them up to and the background noise cancellation is good too. The only slight criticism I have is that the lead is rather short, apart from that they are bang on...

I looked around for a good while and the cheapest I could find them was £139.99 delivered at play.com... think they retail at £179.99 so, yeah still expensive but well worth it IMO :thumbsup:

You can buy hd25's with different lengths of cable, and even with coiled or straight leads :thumbsup:

As Shooms said though, the connections can become fooked - as mine are:| They're great for long listening periods as they're very low fatigue on the ears. If you want something sturdier though and really loud, then the Technics RP-DJ1200 and RP-DJ1210 are pretty bombproof:cool:

me mates got the HD25s and to be honest im not that impressed!
i had these ones marked down as a possibility!, the blue led knocked me off a bit, but ive just ordered a pair anyhow!
if there good enough for Shooms they'll be good enough for me!! lol!!

Had mine for 6/7 years. Total class product.

All spares available, repairable (not that I have had to.) and great sound.

Great cans mate... feel great on the head too - proper meaty :D The LEDs can be switched off :thumbsup:

What about in-ear headphones?

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best in-ear headphones, in terms of applicability house music? Not for DJing, but rather for listening IPODs

I've got some Shure in-ear headphones which cost about £100 a few years back which are much better than bog-standard Ipod headphones and the Bose £60 ones (if using the yellow foam ear inserts). They are pretty good for noise cancellation, but not that wonderful for high volume or especially the deeper bassy sounds you get from over-ear headphones

I know Shure do a dearer range but am not sure if they are much better

Perhaps it just isn't possible to get loud, bassy but quality sounding in-ear headphones??
