Everytime i have a dizzy spell i think i might have a brain tumor or blood clot on the brain :S and also if im recovering from the night before or a bad hangover i start thinking that im gonna have a heart attack... these 2 things scare the living crap out of me

I used to get like that too, i would get a twinge in my chest and think im gonna have a heart attack, id get so wound up that id have a panic attack , the first time i had a major panic attack was the morning after id got off me trolley back in 2001 , my heart was pounding really fast and i was certain i was going to die, i couldnt breath propley, my chest went tight, i was gettin a tingling inside my mouth and down my arms , i couldnt speak or walk propley, i rang a friend to take me to hospital, i got myself that wound up that my blood pressure was 180/160 and was told by the doctor after being checked over and a 2 day stop in hospital n stuff that i was very close to having a sezuire .... from that day onwards death has been on my mind alot, so i used to get panic atacks lot.

The past year and a half ive stopped gettin them, or at least when i feel a funny adrenaline feeling inside i can control it.

Buzz, if youve had a check up at the doctors and your health is alright, then i reckon when you feel funny like what youve mentioned just remember that your alright and theres nothing wrong with you, its helped me to think like that. Also try to switch off to the feelings youre getting, and if you do then dont listen to your heart beat and follow the rhythm coz it'll make you worse.

I feel your pain Saysay. Panic attacks are fookin horrible and rock hard to explain to someone who's never had one!

I was really bad with them just over a year ago - like having 2 or 3 a day Pretty much ok now, but to be honest I don't think I'll ever be the same person that I was before they started. It shits me up something bad just thinking about it!

I think the worst I ever had was one in the middle of the night. I woke up sweating and absolutely petrified. Was confused anyway after waking up suddenly, and hadn't got a clue what was going on. Couldn't work out where I was, what I was doing, who I was or even what I was...

Not so bad now though, with a bit of practise I've found that I can more or less snap myself out of it before it really gets a grip! lol

Ive had a few times with panic attack probs and at one point when i was in quite a stressed IT sales job in 1995 the only way i could cure it was to take my lunch break and sink a couple of pints, sounds wierd but it really worked for me.

yeah saysay that heart beat listening thing is a right tnuc aint it, also the "am i breathing properly thingy" AARRGGHH!

I have panic attacks about dying, not the actual death just about how your dead forever! Cant explain it but it freaks me out....
Things that keep me awake at night.......worrying about my kids getting snatched etc and my 19 year old being out on his scooter (he's already been knocked off twice) keep waiting for the cops at the door
Crashing my car into a lake and it starting to sink, i have a phobia about that...i go over and over the scenario in my head, how would i get both kids out of their car seats, which one would i go for first, how would i get all 3 kids up to the surface aaarggg its stupid but it freaks me out:|
Heights is a major phobia, i have to crawl on me hands and knees... quite amusing to the tourists at the top of blackpool tower!!!

Midgets i have a thing about them too.........but not quite to phobic proportions!!! i think they get it quite easy, i mean they pay the same price for a house and get twice the size for their money LOL only kidding it must be a bummer.
