Who the hell are most of these clowns???

Carl Cox in at number 31 behind somebody that sounds like a adult film star on Babestation "Laidback Luke" and an Israli Duo named "Infected Mushroom".

DJ Mag oh how downhill you have gone

laidback luke rocks. i suggest you check him out b4 slagging him off blindly :naughty:

I always forget how big trance is. It's not my taste (especially the stuff now). It doesn't have enough 'meatiness' for me. A lot of those djs in the higher end are trance related aren't they?

I agree that it's a popularity contest of what's about now - that's all a poll is whatever the angle.

I find it daunting to be honest, there is so much saturation of artists about now - it'd be impossible to vote on something like that fairly (from my point of view anyway)…also, the rate at which people come and go is so high too - people pop up out of nowhere, and gimps jump on it so they're involved in the new 'big thing'.

I like what I like anyway, and find it very personal (and can be very private about what I listen to - my very best friends don't have a clue what I listen to a lot of the time lol. Tangent alert lol.

It just shows how irrelevant DJ Mag is to me these days. It's appealing to a different demographic now.

Maybe we should do our own;)

Define "Better"
A DJ's job is to entertain the crowd by playing music, all those in that list fulfill that role, no? They certainly fill clubs at any rate
The technical abilities of individuals is splitting hairs, 90% of the crowd dont give a shit, the other 10% being us types

Westlife fill stadiums and I'd still say there's thousands of singers "better" than those twats too ;)

And that makes the world go round, what's "shite" to one is "magic" to someone else.

Lemme think back here, in 94 or so everyone whinged at the increasing commercialisation of our scene, EVERYONE tried to get on its back-
And now you're all whinging because the world has turned leaving us in its wake, and now DJ's and musicians of other styles of music that you're too stubborn too attempt to understand are filling popularity charts?

I'm sure the irony is somewhere near the mangasesey and cobalty :p

 Dave.

I've heard you call DnB here (more that once), saying it's easy to mix and for people with fused together fingers, but that shows how closed minded you can be to a scene that's very progressive with lots of very talented producers creating cleverly structured sounds with intricate drum patterns ;)

Then again I was listening to breakbeats (and still am as it's my biggest love:cool: ) in the form of hip hop before house and hip house music came along with the fresh new sounds for our generation, and also listening to electro when it was laying down the roots for techno.

That's just a poll at the end of the day, but it's got little influence on the vast majority of people here unless they're part of the same demographic as those represented by the poll, ie your good self. I'm afraid Suburban Train does fook all for me either:|

Gimme the funk and breaks DJ's and i'll be very happy living in ignorance;)

Failing that, another Jenks night will do very nicely:cool:

(Chemistry joke - soz)

Jim, yeah to me its an awful fuckin' din, but i'm not arrogant enough to suggest that millions of people are wrong because they do happen to like it

The fused finger/ monkey toes thing was something else entirely, an arsey reactive comment to an equally closed minded arrogant arsehole and very ill thought out badly educated comment from a very famous D&B DJ
A comment no doubt he said with a design to provoke controversy.
You obviously missed the joke in what i typed on his blog and on here..

Fuck me, maybe i'm just too smart to hang out here methinks.. Whoosh... There it goes right over the head...
Maybe after the drugs have killed off a billion or so more braincells i'll be at OSA level and i'll finally fit in

all to be taken with a big pinch of salt, i wouldn't expect a current list of top djs to include many oldskool veterans, but i havn't heard of most of them  but nor do i go out to super clubs or whatever they are these days. but unless im going blind, i have not spotted a single DMC wold champ there so says it all really, yes i know dmc is all about turntblism, and not everyones cuppa tea, but for the current world champ not to make it into the top 100 djs, shows how bizzare this list is, its each to thier own of course and i dont buy or read DJ mag so my taste in DJ obviously wont be there, but this fella should for me be in the top 10 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0rNEkZxzJk&feature=related]Z-Trip @ Scratch:All The Way Live 2 of 2 - YouTube[/ame] how many on that list can claim to playing in front of a 450'000 crowd, i bet its not 1  yes those people really were there to see the Stones, but how many of the DJs on that list did the Stones want to open thier show.

Two atoms were walking across a road when one of them said, "I think I lost an electron!" "Really!" the other replied, "Are you sure?" "Yes, I 'm absolutely positive."
