The tunes "behind" the tunes...

I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent resources for info on the early, often obscure tunes that were used in later, more well known tunes?

I'm finding myself become obsessed with this. If there is nothing then I might even start something myself. This week alone I've come accross two that I didn't know about: Neon - Don't Mess With This Beat used by 2 Bad Mice for Bombscare and Kat Mandu - The Break used by Eon for Light, Colour, Sound.

Im well into this kinda thing, just look back through a load of disco/funk tracks on youtube, and you'll find loads of tracks sampled for the oldskool tunes we all love
