1988 for Acid House

and

2008 for electro House

Two of the most influensal years for dance music revolution imo

cant think of two better years, where creativity has been based on a conection of drugs and music

Acid for acid house

and

Ket for Electro house

both eras have been influenced so highly by the drug of its culture, and both have equal amounts of originality, style, and its own unique signature

Personally I think 1989 was the defining year. By the end of 1990 the balance had tipped and it was deaded for me.

I remember going to the Hac in 91, seeing some gimp from my old school and realising things would never be the same. Underground had gone decidedly overground!

I think end of 92 and 93/94 it went shit, that's when I moved into techno/idm/ambient/downtempo stuff as there was a whole world of other music just evolving at that time, but then things changed so much between 92 and 95, a lot of the styles merged and house wasn't pure house anymore, which was a good thing imo as it was getting stale. I would never stay with 1 style though, always best to get into other stuff so you have a wider range of flavours
