I'm a big fan of spoken word lp's - the wierder the better. Here's 2 I managed to bag last night, it was the bloke's description that had me sold:

BIZARRE '70s private PARANOID APOCALYPSE PREACHER 2-LP!

WEIRD '77 private RADIO STATION MARKETING LP (samples!)

"Whooo boy –another perfect "10" on the bizarre-o-meter!"

Another one I spotted, although I'm not gonna get it is "a 78 red vinyl recording which details a bladder operation with "modern" ( 1950s ) harpsicord and viola da gamba playing an old musical composition in the background", "the only musical description of a surgical operation and this is the first modern performance and the first recording".

Anyone else come across anything wierd?

Haha thought you might've mentioned that one shooms when I started reading the thread... managed to find a french phrases one in the same charity shop as well :p

Another odd one I managed to pick up once was a promotional 7" single for a new city in australia... cant remember the name offhand - something like Dongawongasville.. proper cheesy 1970s voiceover, but best of all it has a theme song!! If I can find it sometime I'll post up a sample.

The 70's were ace for vinyl weren't they, it was awash with the wierd. For radio purposes they just still stuck it on vinyl.

I've also got a 7" entitled "The Best Dreams" which promotes (boo hiss) Burnley Building Society. I think it was actually released as a single. The words are done by none other than Salman Rushdie who apparently was working in the marketing dept at the time. Unfortunately no spoken word, but there's an ace disco instrumental on the flip.
