Finally got my decks down to London this weekend, I only bought them off Grad about 18 months ago.

I don't have an amp and speakers at the minute, and am pretty skint, can I, or would you advise against puttin git through my mini system just for the time being. Oly problem is my mini system only has one small input socket at teh front, so I am not sure if I can put the mixer through this anyway.

I'm a bit clueless on this kind of stuff, can anyone advise?

Cheers
Ed

im like herpes....never quite fcuk hoff!!!
ive had decks run thru my old system at christmas last year and it worked ok, until they blew the amp im the stereo and blew the speakers :|

stee has his set up at the mo thru his stereo and it seems to work ok,

i think it just depends on wether the stereo is powerful enough to take them,

should work fine mate, just be careful not to overload the mini system with output from the mixer, start off quiet and adjust the output from the mixer, better to work with a quiet output and turn up the volume on the amp rather than the other way round, ope it all works

Yeah, I've just got mine running through the stereo. Got the jackplugs plugged into the red and white thingies in the back.

And it wasn't me who blew up you stereo Nics. It was Taff having the main volume on the mixer on full......:p

Hi Ed. What sort of input is it ? is it a phono type input (red and white) or just an oridinary headphone type input ?

Its an ordinary headphone type input (thin plug, not the fatter one), which worries me a bit. Don't want to blow the fecker up!

Thanks for all the replies.

Any ideas what lead/s I'll need from me mixer to the stereo then?

Thanks again.

...whacking em through your pc soundcard?

If you have a line input, use that - you can then record your mixes, sample etc etc.

Am up for that in the new year when I get a pooter!!
I can't wait to do a mix I'm proud of, I've been planning on doing one since about 1992 lol. Once I've done that I just need to make a tune that goes top 20, and publish a novel....

If the output on your mixer looks like this...

Phono_Input.jpg

Then one of these should do the trick... Stereo phono (RCA) to 3.5mm mini jack
