Some dood hacked into my e-mail last week and got into my paypal and spent over £300 on it.

Now, I don't have any money in my paypal, it just comes out of my bank so I'm now skint as a mo fo until paypal refunds me!!

I was gutted to say the least and don't have a clue as to who it was or how they hacked into my e-mail. I got all emotional when I found out..... it's not nice!! Why do people do that to others? It's well shit!!!

Has anyone else had this happen to them??

xx

I know of someone who had theirs hacked into, the person who did it ran up some extortionate amount into the 70-80 grand bracket :| , he didnt know until some seller contacted him and asked him why he had bid more than the buy it now price on a car he had apparently bought !!! luckily he had enough time to check what was bought & cancel everything then report it. think that was his ebay account though not his paypal.

not good at all !!

I got an email from 'paypal' once asking for my card info etc.

Although the email looked legit I got in touch with paypal and they saidn they would NEVER do that - I was so close to being stolen from. Im just glad i looked into it.

What a biatch. :(

My dad had a virus on his comp last year, and he got a nice credit card bill for shit he'd never bought. Hotel bills and allsorts... They were pretty good though and there was no probs getting it sorted.

Re: the dody emails, you can always tell them coz they start with "dear customer" and never adress you with you're full name. Also hover your mouse over the link in the email and the address in the bottom left will show up, usually starting with a load of numbers.

I've had allsorts of problems with both ebay and paypal. A while ago somebody 'overtook' my ebay account as I tried to log on but it wouldnt accept my password, then I got emails confirming the listing of plamas TV's ha ha, then there is no phone number for ebay and have to fill in silly online forms and wait.

Ebay have also took money from my current account as well as debiting money from credit card.

Paypal have taken money for a transaction that I didnt complete, funny enough is was from the mixes section a third party server that you upload a mix to (15 quid) - Had to wait til I got the money back. Allsorts of problems.

I think ebay is good to buy from but if you are selling (and accepting the money via paypal) its a rip off, by you pay ebay to sell, then paypal take some money because someone has sent you money, then to tranfer less than 50 quid to your bank yet another charge, it not worth selling it. Ebay & Paypal are useful tools but I think its wide open to fraud etc.

Gutted for you Sonz :(

Nothing worse than someone who steals off their own.... absolute scum

Have you contacted yer bank to arrange a temp overdraft while the chargeback is going thru ? Your bank should be sympathetic given the circumstances.... n if they're not fuck em off n move elsewhere...

I had summat similar about a year ago where for somereason 1900 quid was taken from my current account... I didn't even have 1900 quid in there lol so was seriously overdrawn & rather shocked... was an admin error n it was all credited to my account within 4 weeks after investigation into the fuckup & I was given a free temp overdraft in the interim...

Fingers x'd for yer missy
