hush tours for hip hop tour
theres loads bars where the streets houston and ludlow on lower east side meet. pretty casual around there and once there everything is in walking distance,so have a wonder around.
century 21 right next to ground zero for cheap designer shop. like a TKmaxx over here.

theres a decent roof top bar / club near where your staying, called 230fifth Outdoor Rooftop Bar, Club, Restaurant NYC New York | 230 Fifth great views of empire state. its cold up there though,lol so they give out these red gowns. bit expensive as well.
Also the meat packing district has decent bars and clubs again all in walking distance of one another.Meatpacking District

for a top view of the city try the roof top at the metropolitan museum, amazing. its by central park so it looks like the city has grown out of a jungle.

have fun, i'm jealous ..think another visit is due soon for me lol:thumbsup:

lucky bugger gregg, i would love to go back. deffo do the hush tour. Hip Hop Tours | New York City Tours of Harlem, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens! | Hush Tours, Inc. do the birthplace of hiphop one if your only doing 1, it takes you through harlem via graffitti hall of fame, then into the bronx, not really into the south, but it actually began in the west bronx, then back into harlem for some lunch. i think it varies who guides it, but if you get grandmaster caz he if funny as hell. we wanted to do the brooklyn tour too but it was full. so best book before you go m8. also a trip down to coney island is an experience, you gotta try the cyclone roller coaster if its still running i think they were going to rip it down, but the wonder wheel from the start of warriors is still there, i wish i had had a go on it but i was still in shock from that roller coaster. :| honest its just wrongness.
also hire a bike theres cycle tracks all over (they give you a great cycle route map) you can virtually ride all round manhattan island on the paths, we rode up crossed into south bronx then back over nr yankee right up top of harlem then down the west side and hopped on ferry with bikes to staten island then back up east side to return them, it was ace. gotta admit i was a bit warey of going into some of the parts we were in, but never had a bit of hassle off the tourist route. have a cracker m8 and get exploring :cool: i wish i could go back soon.

The cyclone hurt as much as a medieval torture device but it was a load of fun:cool:

230 on 5th is a good spot :) , food isn't badly priced but you'll pay $20 a drink - however its well worth it, the view is really impressive, you're in the lap of luxury up there.

Another cool rooftop bar thats nearby but cheaper is Bar 13, completely different to 230, doubles up as nightclub later on, a lot of big house dj's play there, if you walk down to 13th street union square, its on the corner.

I've got a ton of restaurant/club/activity recommendations, ill reply later when finish work :)

The big Ferris wheel, the cyclone and another ride there at Coney are protected now so they'll be there for future generations hopefully:thumbsup::D

But the pleasure you get between the good leg pastings makes up for it:cool:
