Nahh as your anaerobic system develops through training harder, the stitches start to diminish, stitches are your body sayin your muscles cant oxygenate with blood alone, a stitch is telling you to stop... you gradually teach your muscles that oxygen is available elsewhere (anaerobic - converting complex sugars in carbohydrates stored in food in to oxygen for the muscle groups that are workin hardest) by training thru the pain.

i might be talkin bollox im fuckin wasted here, so google all that to be sure

Yeah I occasionally get stitches when I train really hard or do vigourous excercise really quickly, perhaps you notice them less when you're older because some people don't do as much running around/vigourous excercise etc like you do as a kid or in school P.E. lessons etc?

Its actually supposed to be to do with strain on your diaphragm and liver caused from the downward tug put on your liver when you're running...you're liver is attached to your diphragm by ligaments that are stretched and strained when you run/excercise...made worse by the way you're breathing etc...this is the main I found when I looked it up last when I was traning for a run...i'm although there are other similar theories about a lack of blood supply to the diaphragm.

I haven't had a stitch for yrs.

Usually what happens with me after 10-15 mins on the treadmill is the water that I drank beforehand starts trying to come back up again:|
