How odd??

I just tried to upload a mix onto Soundcloud and it has been immediately refused advising that one track is the copyright of EMI UK. It ID`d the artist, title and even the correct mix.

I didn`t submit a track list so fuck knows how it did that so quick.

I am sure no one has time to listen to everything first and it was so quick - it rejected it whilst is was updating the waveform.

The only way I can think of is they have a sample library that compares the audio files but this seems ridiculous.

I posted a couple of my snowboarding vids on Youtube recently and that blocked the soundtrack from 1 and told me it was blocked in other countries because we used copyright material from 4 different record companies.

I guess it's using similar software.

Its automatic Barrie, each track's waveform is like a unique fingerprint, and the algorithm scans the track when you upload it. Youtube use the same technology

I've had similar issues with trying to upload Norma Jean - I like love on youtube... I've tried on numerous occasions, even naming it summat innocous & random yet it still flags it immediately as copyrighted

Posterous seems good, although you need to invite posters, but you can upload and download whatever you want seemingly..
