Help Please!!!

On my laptop I've got quite a few sets that are just one long track. Could someone please tell me how to split them up so I can add tracklistings to them & enable me to skip tracks etc. Not the worlds best with computers!! Is there an application already on pc's nowadays or will I have to d/load one???:S

I did have all the stuff on my laptop, not used it for a bit though but will look when I get back from work tonight. I think the prog was called wav/mp3 converter and worked by linking it to win amp. All you had to do was pause the track where you wanted the spilt and click on grab time from win amp so it was pretty straight forward.
