On Ilkley moor without a hat
Just restarted my pc and I am stuck with this on the screen

we apologise for the inconvenience but Windows did not start successfully...." It give me 5 options to boot XP -
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Last Know Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
and
Start Windows Normally.

I can move up and down to highlight each option but which ever I choose it just keeps going round in circles back to the same screen

Is there anyway of not having to reload windows (and loosing all my file:cry: )

Could I put in a new hard drive and use the existing c drive as a secondary drive and be able to get to my files

Of course I haven't backed up any of my files :naughty: so I'm pretty desperate

Thanks for any help/advice

I had this happen once - thought I tried everything until I removed the Master/Slave jumper from the back of the IDE drive rebooted and it worked since - could possibly been a coincendence though.

I bet your gonna tell me this is a SATA bugger now lol.
