This party had been in the pipeline for about 6 months and was about contacting old friends and bringing everything back together for a reunion party. The organiser managed to secure the original 8k Black Box soundsystem DiY used bitd which had recently changed hands and had been repaired.
I said id help out so 3 of us arrived 'on-site' (a freinds field) with 2 others about 11am and waited for the marquee which duly arrived. By about 3pm through thankfully only wind the marquee was up and sturdly tied down. Shortly after the PA arrived and the decision was made to install the full 8k into the 60x20ft marquee..6k of which was sub-bass. Next came the lazers and then the light show - would there be enough room to dance?! I grabbed some scoff about teatime and headed back to the car for a power-nap about 8. At about 11 I decided enough was enough and id better join in the obvious party that was kicking off around me. The soundsystem was clear as a bell and the music was mostly oldschool deephouse with the odd acid and warehouse track thrown in for good measure. Id put the numbers at the height at about 300 which considering the weather (howling wind and rain) wasnt bad at all.. the bar made £550 too. In the morning however the inside of the tent was in a bad way but the vibe throughout the whole night was positive and loved-up to the max. Hopefully plans are afoot for another re-gathering in the spring and maybe in the summer... watch this space.
Massive respect to Mukka from the board for making it from Reading and tracking me down - nice one geeze, nice to meet you and the misses
