Had an Akai MPC and didn't like it, sold it on.
Emu is better (sampler wise) as the filters are warmer than Akai's.
If you want a sampler, EMU Ultra 5000 is mighty

I have an S3000XL sampler. Never use it any more though, been wondering about sticking it on the bay actually...
Beast of a machine though, used to use it all the time.

I have a souped up EMU 6400 sampler - the dogs danglies with the excellent filters offering some quality real time effects.
I hardly use it nowadays.
