Thought I'd share this one with you. I won this auction the other day for 101 - Rock To The Beat under the pseudonym Phat_Freddy. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4023879406&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT The blokes postage was £3 which I personally think is plain wrong. However it was the stupidly obvious false bumping up of the price which astounded me. You'll have to bear with me on the explanation. First of all I got 3 emails saying I'd been outbid each time with slightly lowering amounts. Then if you check out the retractions on the bid history. Some bastard just doesn't want to win the auction, instead get just below my maximum! http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws3/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=4023879406 I sent the seller an email at the end saying I no longer wanted the item: Hi mate, I won the above item from you. However, I couldn't help taking a look at the bid history, and there is a number of retracted bids, which smarts heavily of false bumping of the price up to my maximum. I'm not saying this was the case here, but I find it very suspicious that there could be so many retractions. As such I no longer want the item from you. I will be more than willing to pay your ebay fee, but unfortunately I cannot take the item from you under those circumstances. Sorry, Freddy Was bored tonight and sent the bloke another: Alright there Big Fella, Been re-looking over the bid history and the retractions. Old blocksgadget and soulfuric01 were in a serious tiswas when it came to entering amounts weren't they. As well as the retractions on the Bid History page. Cheers, Freddy He sent us this reply: haha freddy sorry mate im not experienced here mate someone said thats what they do making a few xtra pennies but im no good at it thats made me laugh i think i,l leave that in future cheers paul At least he's honest!
