Have to say, what a top day - defo the best D-Percussion in years - a pity it was the last one :(

Me and Jay were on right at the beginning of the day - so wasn't packed then, unlike later on when it was absolutely hammered - so much so they stopped letting people in around 6 o clock. Caught Norman Jays set at the "Arches" stage, which was superb (apart from shut up and dance "I'm raving I'm Raving" lol) also Rich Reason at the sketch city stage was quality and Damo playing Drum & Bass to about 2,000 people later on lol! phones:

Good day all in all, no scallies really good atmosphere......
Think I've only missed 1 in 10 years, will be sadly missed - RIP D - Percussion

LOL - It was unbeliveable how quickly it filled up. I was trying to persuade one of the showcase security blokes to let 2 mates in - but absolutely no way was he having it - even with a £10 bribe!! Obviously security pays well eh! Defo never seen it that busy before....

lol we were pulling people up from the wall that goes alongside the canal and the side of Dukes.

The last Dpercussion definately lived up to expectations. Aside from the fact that some of Manchester's finest DJs absolutely smashed it on the Unity and Arches Stages (special big up to damo b and mark xtc for some serious jump up junglism), and that Sunshine Underground and Cherry Ghost got about 5000 people rockin their tits off, oh and of course the unexpected treat of Badly Drawn boy just randomly walking on the xfm and doing a small but beautifull accoustic set....what really did it for me was the atmoshphere!
Recently Manchester has seemed to have lost it's well known and loved happy, partying vibe. But you can always trust dpercussion to bring it back with a vengence...and it did. Manchester was once again one united party place and everyone was openly enjoying themselves, scallies, students, kids and oldies.

Shame on you if you missed it. You would get another chance;)

Wicked day, and night:thumbsup:

Norman Jay was fantastic..... doug lazy, into chic, into pierres fantasy club + countless other hip house and oldskool chicago beasts:) The dance stage was easily the best as it was the only one with a funktion 1 sound system, hence you could solely hear that stage!! where as there were soundclashes throughout the site which was a bit mad..... thoroughly enjoyable though!!! Loads of great sets on the dance stage, and other stages to be fair. Was really good when we got right up to the front and had a lengthy old boogie - was reminiscent of being in the Space opening party car-park lol!

Micron was amazing after as well. What an atmosphere that place has got, good on the lads! It was rammed out well before i came on, wicked tunes all night, with wicked reactions from the crowd..... loved every minute of my set - still smiling just thinking about it all:D

Had a great day!

Landed in manchester about 1 and went straight down to odd bar for a beer then made our way down deansgate had another beer on the way down.....decided we'd nip back to the shop and buy some bevvies to take in but the police were stopping everyone so we supped all the cans beforehand and i walked in with a half bottle of gin down me knackers :p

stopped off in dukes for the 1st beer and then spent the rest of the day milling about looking for our mates (missed norman jay due to this) but it didnt matter because the atmosphere around the whole place was just amazing!!!

we went from stage to stage just chilling out and soaking the whole thing up!

got a few piccies which ill try n up at a later stage

what a good day out this was! i agree with people who say this was the most packed i have ever seen a dpercussion, saw loads of people i knew and met some new faces who were kool, which was nice:D
highlight for me n mr coley was playing to over 2 000 people at the unity stage(thanks mizza for the pic) 20 mins each, gotta say picking 5 or 6 tunes for that was the hardest set i ever compiled and played, three reeeeeewinds, totally got the crowd jumpin.lots of smilin faces and people goin mad, made my day.didnt see any bother or dick heads for a change. shame its no more.
however there is the new islington festival in september for east manchester, which looks like it could be big also.

I thought it was pretty average compared to the previous years/when it started. It's an ace day for meeting peeps you haven't seen for ages - though on the whole I didn't think it was that good. Lacked any real atmosphere till much later on and by that time I'd had enough. It was rammo though which was good and should have had those other stages at the previous ones. Hope it comes back though bigger and better than ever.
