Any Ableton users help out???

No I haven`t converted but a mate asked me a simple question that I am unsure of.

How do you connect your pc to your mixer when using this software?

Anybody help me with an answer for him?

I suppose it depends on what mixer he's using.
Is it just a normal mixer or a more up-to-date midi-mixer?
I use a laptop. I connect my lappy to my external sound interface/ soundcard (in a little box) via usb (miss that bit out if using a desktop with a couple of outputs) & then connect that to my mixer using simple red & white leads (like the ones on Technics) but plugged into line-in on mixer.
In Ableton, you then select 'Options' then 'preferences', then basically find the right soundcard in 'driver type' & 'audio device'

Do you need an interface or can you run it from existing soundcard?

I think you should be ok with existing soundcard- if using a pc as long as it has enough outputs on it (I think 2, could be wrong tho, actually it could be just a single one). The problem for me was that I wanted to use a better sound quality than the onboard laptop one & just found it more stable for ripping vinyl etc....
