This arguement would go on forever. I cant call myself a DJ but love having a mess around using various formats. 1, Vinyl IS king, there is nothing like picking records out of the racks and havng a mix with them, there is a direct connection between you and the record.....always best and most rewarding. Good quailty equipment is important as it is predictable and does what you want it to do. 2, CDJ's I have 2x CDJ800's (mkII) and there are prety cool however there is a jog wheel between me and the media, it is not quite as responsive and has alsorts of buttons which can correct things and sample etc. Nowhere as good a vinyl but better than MP3 3, VCM300, what a heap of steaming crap if im honest. I use it when I want to hear a tune and cant be bothered to go downstairs to my decks. Unresponsive, can auto cue, auto time, auto pitch in fact can do everything that I enjoy doing myself when dj'ing and therefore does remove quite alot of the skill. Im old enough to have bought vinyl new. It does say something when a so called obsolete format keeps going with continued specialist demand (unlike tapes etc) Unfortunately alot of the new releases are not pressed to vinyl as the artists and promoters know it is not good enough to sell the numbers required to risk the investment to press to vinyl. CD's are cheap, poxy mp'3 are free!! This is why there is so much shite new music out there drowning out the good stuff which would have naturally rissen to the top and made the hard working artists good money. My opinion only
