Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy (2011) - IMDb

Was really looking forward to this. They did a great job with Trainspotting but the transition of book to screen for Ecstacy wasn't great, so much missing and the cast not brilliant. It also seemed to follow the theme of 'lets get as many club shots in there as possible'.

I agree with the 4.5 rating many have given it, entertaining enough if you haven't got anything else to watch and the music was better than hoped although nowhere near as good as it could have been.

V/H/S (2012) - IMDb

Much more like it! This is how blair witch should have been made and a lot of others that followed over the years.

Some nice kills and twisted effects with a last 20 min throw everything at it horror flashback styleee

Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) - IMDb

Fookin aceness of the highest order, i was really rooting for those cheeky monkeys, i was singing "I wanna Be Like You" while willing them to beat the shite out of the horrible humans!

Couldnt tell it Andy Serkis under all the furry apesuit too...
Love the bit where a newscast showed the launch of Taylors manned Mars mission too :) Yayyy come home to Monkeyworld, Mofo!

The next film i'm wanting to watch is Intouchables, although it's called Untouchable (2011) - IMDb for English speaking audiences. I might get the chance now the Paralympics has finished.

French comedy drama, and that obviously means subtitles, but look at that score and read the comments:cool: Grossed over $350 million too, yet I hadn't even heard about it until I started looking at the highest rated film list.

Detachment
Detachment (2011) - IMDb

Powerful powerful stuff. Powerful, emotional, tearjerking, heartstring pulling, impotent anger forming stuff. Probably up there with Crash, you could get a fag paper between em if you had to choose which was the best ever film i have seen.
You think Don Cheadle was at his best in Crash? You just wait until you see Adrien Brody's portrayal of Mr Barthes.

We all should try to be Mr Barthes, even just a little bit, and the world wouldnt be so fucking horrible

GET ON THIS< RIGHT NOW!!!!:fekked:
