Ive been hearing alot of stuff about this guy. I choose to listen some of his remixes
Faithless - God Is A Dj (Deadmau5 Remix) - I didnt think that tune could possibly be made any worse but this version is terrible IMO

There were another 2 that I listened to and thought nothing of and if I never hear them again I wont be bothered.

Plus is it just me or does he look like some dirty little baghead that asks you for bus fare home and shows you his prison release form whilst your shopping in the town?

Am I impressed by this guy? Nope certainly not

This guy gets on my nerves with all his shit remixes. All same structured and really annoying. But I must admit that his first own tunes last year were really good, especially Faxing Berlin.

Admittedly, i have only seen a couple of tiesto youtube clips & early productions, but not very impressed, no.
Oakenfold- i can admit to buying the Goa mix & enjoying it (1995???) & like some of the earlier Perfecto 12's, there's one going round my head now with the sample 'oooh oooh yeeee-eeee-hhhhh', but can't remember the name (Man with no name?).
Can't say I like recent stuff I've heard by him.
Just motivated by money not music.
I think there are plenty of people on here who dig music outside of oldskool. Oldskool comprises not even 10% of what I listen to, so I reckon a lot of people will appreciate Deadmaus- I will check him out.

Just motivated by money....think that that is down to his age (c45yrs?). I've been thinking for years that its a bit rum that the likes of him and Tong et al have such an important part of youth culture in a stranglehold. Whilst I appreciate that they were part of the progenitors, surely the drivign force should be people of a relevant age. Then again, thats maybe why kids are more likely to be into bands now adays than clubs? Dunno. Just my 2 penneth!

Dunno about that re Oakenfold, he's all about the music, I just think at 45 or however old he is and spending most of his time outside the UK he's not really in touch with with a lot of the newer stuff. Not really liked his stuff since about 98/99 really. Agree with the point above, he's followed his heart with the music, its made him rich and successful and so now he's just keeping that going.

The Goa Mix is a classic for sure.

If you are looking for newer stuff I'd really recommend

Jimpster
Dennis Ferrer
Justin Martin
Milton Jackson
Solumun and Stimming
Buzzin Fly Records (Great weekly show of new tunes and a 30 minute guest mix)
Jon Dahlback

This sorta stuff I just find really boring, takes far to long to get anywhere, he uses very similar sounds on each track - where's the excitement?

Each to their own though..

Dunno what styles you'd call this stuff and it makes me laugh seeing people argue about wether its electro/progressive house/house or whatever on the comments on youtube
