The way I clean mine is to fill the sink half full with very luke warm water...Put the record in vertically and rotate rubbing the grooves gentle with my hands to get any dirt/greasy finger marks off. Do this both sides then dry with a towel pressed tight to the groove and with the groove. Then spray each side with Isopropyl Alcohol (about 5-6 sprays each side) this buff with a lint free cloth, again with the grooves...when you play the record through this will then lift the dirt from the groove and will generally improve playback by around 50% (as long as crackles/pops are not caused by scratches). I just use a dam duster with the Vinyl on the deck and wipe the vinyl same direction as the grooves then play the vinyl forward and backwards where needed the most,i don't like chemicals on my vinyl also i red somewhere from a vinyl engineer that has work in a pressing plant for years that all chemicals are bad for your vinyl as time goes on so thats something to think about you really only need water! all chemicals are bad at the end of the day thats why they are called chemicals!

Ipa is just pure alcohol Monty....it reduces static as well as cleans, and is safe for vinyl (It evaporates off the surface in a bout 40 secs)...its just stuff like turps and the like you want to avoid using on your records ha ha...Anti static is the key to nice sounding records

Spray 2-3 times on the record use 1 cloth to smooth out over the record

Play the record through with an old stylus

Clean the record slowly with 2nd cloth

Repeat for side 2

Job done :D

ha ha.. I know that people have different views on the this but I'm with ed on this ipa is the way to go, used it myself and it gets rid of all the static from the record plus any greasy marks.. definitely recommended
