Freindliest club : Leeds Warehouse 1990-1991 (great people but there was the odd skermish between dealers with macheties but that was part of the fun).

Dodgiest : 1989 - 1992. Any of them blues bars in Chapeltown, Leeds like Sonny`s, Trades club, oh and kin`ell the dungeons (petrol bombs stored in the toilets, people swarming the cars outside, tables full of narcotics like a flea market, big dogs, kickboxing etc...

Friendliest - Full Circle @ Queens in Colnbrook 91/92 (about 1/2 mile from Heathrow Airport)

This used to be on every sunday afternoon - basically a big gay pub in the middle of nowhere with a clubby bit and a big garden - well friendly place for London! - used to have a right range of DJ's - basically anyone who was in London used to get blagged into playing there - remember Tony Humphries played there - but you would regualry get weatherall/ashley beedle/phil perry/terry farley/norman jay playing there - London Xpress by Xpress 2 was made for the club

Unfiendliest - the State Liverpool - about 96 - full on mental bizznizz -

Friendliest club - Goodtimes - cant think of a friendlier place than this can relax and enjoy

Dodgiest Club - Applebys (St Helens) Alec and Dee Dee will agree with me there - always someone lying in a pool of blood outside, ambulances everywhere, there was always trouble when I went there you couldnt relax - get eye contact with someone and that was it! Got my worst kickin ever in there both eyes shut, broken nose and spittin bits of tooth out in the sink, the people who twatted us was in with the bouncers aswell! - didnt even get chucked out after it - bouncer bought me a pint!!!!

friednliset club ever ,for me, had to be "Galactic" (varoius dogy venues though) in Bridgewater...

Oftern went down to work (I "mangaed " a dj at the time) on Saturday and get back from an after party some time early Tuesday...

And the least friendly club is any night ever held @ Bagleys, King's Cross.

Although it has been my misfortune to occasionaly end up in "mecca" type clubs....are they inlcuded in you poll?

Friendliest
Crunch in Brum, no matter what state you were in there was always a friendly stranger to sit you down and apply herbal remedy.

Dodgiest (apart from Mr Smiths)
The Roby in Finsbury Park (Now the powerhouse) BUT served booze till 7am and had a wicked MC over the house tunes!

The worst toilets you have EVER seen, makes the one in trainspotting look like buckingham palace

the sanctuary has been around for years,i think it used to be dansleigh leisure centre.helter skelter used to have there nights in there and the rollers.

slammin vinyl now have there nights there now.

p.s nathen what did you used to be in,i was going to ask once before when you said you where once doing a pa at bowlers.

its just that you rarely mention it .

tee hee i wish it was more exciting than this but basically. My mate Matt cantor was one half of strike (as in 'u sure do' and now part of the freestylers) and the other half of strike was very media shy and didn't really want to do many public appearences (for reasons i can't go into i'm afraid.) So i had to learn how to mime the piano bit that nicks the synth riff from cubic 22's:- night in motion and pretend to be one half of strike. there u go. pretty lame but had some amazing nights as you can imagine. Venue 44 was my first pa and completely blew my mind. The chazzed up promoter loved it so much he tried to make us do the tune twice in a row

wow crunch in birmingham

i heard that was wicked. There was a great night in london called 'come dancing' and they bought matt jarmon (sp?) down from crunch. he was wicked. loads of top old skool. UURRGGHJHH bagleys what a shite hole. Spent new years eve 1995 there and walked round on a sea of bottles all night

Venue 44 hehhe my old huntin ground - friendly as fekk that place - i can honestly say i aint seen one bit of trouble in that place - some top memories though - one is pete tong comin in wadin his way down to stage at bottom , see us lot trys scorin pils with his man record holder - so we sort him lol he starts sayin that pills in mansfield are wank - lol half way through his set he came of lol and his man with him was puttin recs on for jools to take over. absolutely loved that place the people - club itsself

Had a superb night myself in Venue 44 around 93, but never managed to make it back!

Probably Manhattan's & Legends friendliest for me, never seen anything but smiles in there, but I think a lot of it was to do with the time period not just the club - Bowlers & Pier were generally very friendly pre '94 say, but later on '95/96ish seen a fair bit of trouble. Think generally clubs were much friendly because the house music scene less known about by the general public & peeps in the clubs were bang into the music & it seemed a bit more special? As time progressed the good heads got a bit diluted by a lot of idiots as it became much more widespread.

dodgiest club like pacman said would be home for me...used to work there for a short while and saw shooters/acid throwers/flame throwers...not nice

dodgiest one off was in all day/nighter wythenshawe park in about 95. Some clowns calling themselves 2 kinky decided to take over the tents one by one, kicked fuck out of a few dj's and started with the gas canister/lighter combo which aint a smart thing to do in a fuckin marquee! I got threatened by some dick who wanted to rob me with rambo knife who didnt know what to do when I told him to fuck off.

special mention to clubUK for moodiness

friendliest was pollen at the new ardri/psv club in hulme...dodgy area but friendly as fuck

Forgot about Kinetic in stoke went once and got approached for money 3 times in space of about 4 hours always near the tunnel bit.
All that after some bast sold me a dove which was about 2 inch thick turned out to be ketamine was on me arse for many an hour

kin ell paul manhattons you just brought some mems, it was v friendly in there
monroes was pritty bad
went to some place in sheffeild with a load of lads from doncaster there was a really strange attmos in there (i think it was sheffeild anyway) cant remember the name then again it might of been wakefeild (it was like a hanger come cow shed)

Firendliest for me was Park Hall circa 93/94 - knew everyone in there and everyone was sound.

Dodgiest is a tough one cos its not the club that makes a place dodgy its if there are arseholes in there. The club only makes itself dodgy if it lets them back in again!

Both Wigan Pier and Maximes have been nightmares on occasion but the king of them all for me has to be the Colloseum in Coventry. Fekkin Hell people danced in little circles all facing in to each other to avoid catching other peoples eyes and gangs of some of the scariest lookng mofos I've every seen just barged around the place looking for trouble!

Mention has to go to the Phoenix in Manchester as well - first time I went there we walked in and thought we weren't going to make it out alive. We headed over to the bar and this huge bald fekker with a scar running down half his head came up to me and asked "have you had owt?". I gulped and said no. SO he holds out a bag of white powder and says - "here then try some of this its wicked!!!!!!!" CLass place - well friendly, we were sat upstairs and people came and sat down with us - skinned up, took a few drags passed it on to us and then wandered off!!! Deff. going there again real soon!

never went there, went to ricky's below the gallery which was a mental acid house night. end of the night they allways played kung fu fighting. i've seen some strange things in my time but nothing compares to the amount of looney jackie chan, bruce lee, ninja wannabees going bananas at the end of the night.

Has anyone ever noticed how the friendliest of clubs can become the dodgiest of clubs just by having an attack of the para:crazy:

And, the dodgiest club then becomes the friendliest after dropping a quality pill:fekked:

My friendly faves = Venue, Old Hall, Madisons
My dodgys = Sankeys (pre 96), Mr Smiths

A man of taste!

Mark Jarman and the other resident at Crunch Jon Hollis were GODS! Not sure if they are still doing it. If you get him down for Come together mate I'll be there with knobs on!!! Shoom is an old Crunch boy as well, am sure we must have hung off the same ceiling....

:fekked:

Got old tapes of his I still hammer!
