This is a good post 
I spent a lot of time creating my tunes on Dance Ejay 1 for the PC back in 1999/2000.
Everything manually added into the sequencer and not a single loop file to be seen.
It takes time to find the sounds you like. Adding variation to the tune without repetitive audio loops.
Some parts of the tracks you create, you have to listen to the same bit about 100 times to make sure its perfect.
Not as easy as some think.
I didnt like the demo tunes that came with Ejay 1, awful. Those terrible multiple loop files which sounded so tacky and old.
The only way to do it, was to slowly add your own beat loops and percussions, synths. Takes time.
I would say the stuff i made on Ejay, didnt sound like it was made on Dance Ejay. It sounded better than that !! Just my personal opinion haha
Original Dance Ejay, you could also add your own audio files and create some crazy stuff.
