Was up at Maplin to get some new leads (Phono to USB) to rip some old tapes to the lap top, the guy in the shop said they had the leads but they were £49 , they came with a software package, am not the best with computer but felt this was a bit much, my nephew says i dont need the package just the leads but am i better just buying the £49 deal?

If you've got a mic in then you can do a minijack to minijack transfer & just use Audacity (free) to rip

allready ordered the leads but am gona get Audacity, had it b4, easy to use but it did tend to skip while ripping....

i use cool edit for same thing just leads from tape player to MIC input on comp
