Just wanted to make a short review of one of the best night ive ever had
Made a last minute descion to skimmy over to fabric last night, and only got there at about 12.30, just in time for jacques le conts set - the man of the moment production wise .....
He was feckin superb, absolutely amazing tunes that blew the club to pieces .... the soundsystem there is unbelivable - even hard house would sound good in there!! well not quite .....
He finished with LCD soudsystem - tribulations, which has 800 or so people in a feckin rammed room 1 singing along to the words - very emotional
But next on was Erol Alkan who was nigh on unbelivable. so good i was in a state of shock! He used to be a rock dj and in parts you could deffo see why, with loads of rock/electroclash mayhem being banged out. His live remixing was also second to none .... the stuff he was pulling off was incredibly original and talented. The thing that did it for me though, was the amount of class class oldskool house tunes he dropped into his set ..... MARRS (which sounded awesome), Bowa - different story (couldnt believe it when i heard this! havent heard it for years but it sounded wicked, and the crowd were still well up for it!), 808 state etc etc ... he was feckin amazing, havent heard a set with such variety for a long time
He did last weeks eseential mix which ive got here ... the first 20 mins is just full of noise and oldskool samples, and to be honest snt too pleasent on the ear .... but from then on its rocking!! Loads of minter bootlegs and fat beats ..... give it a whirl!
