New Dance Show Does anyone else watch “The New Dance Show” on Youtube? If you haven’t done so already then might be worth a look. It’s a show quite similar to Soul Train but recorded in Detroit in the late 80’s and early 90s. The show’s producers sourced dancers from Detroit nightclubs and told them to dance their socks off to local DJ’s spinning techno, house, soul, hip-hop. Although the folks flexing their dancing can come off as quite cringe, its also interesting to see and hear early Techno. The DJ specialised in playing local tunes, ie Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins. Give it a go and check out some old school techno and acid or if you just fancy a laugh.
