Fat Camp is the secret lovechild of DJs Bill Brewster and Paul Noble.
One minute they’re rocking the roof off a huge dancefloor with some tough and funky big-room underground house; the next they’re charming the pants off a more intimate crowd with everything from dubby disco, funk and hip-hop to trip-hop and Latin electronica.
Armed with a sensitivity and sense of occasion that few DJs possess, Bill Brewster and Paul Noble know how to work a crowd in the best possible sense. With their exclusive re-edits of disco, funk, hip-hop, house and rock records, they have charmed crowds everywhere for the four years they have been working together.
Bill is a legendary DJ and author, having been a resident at Fabric since it opened. His DJ credentials stretch back to the New York ‘Low Life’ loft parties he ran in the 1990s, and the Faith parties he currently puts on. His book ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’ has become recognised as the definitive history of dance music, and he has contributed to every dance rag there is, and most national newspapers.
Paul has worked as a producer and sound engineer at Radio 1 for over ten years, and has been DJing, collecting music and playing in bands for even longer. With a shameless love of all things funky and trashy, he digs deeper than the average DJ to find a tune.
They have supported Basement Jaxx at Brixton Academy, played at The End, Fabric, SEOne, Sancho Panza, The Big Chill, The Glade, 93 Feet East, Medicine, Cargo and numerous warehouse parties, private parties and corporate events, and have recently supplied the soundtrack for the ‘Yes, Yes Y’all’ exhibition at London art gallery The Hospital.
They have released music on a number of labels including Whistlebump, Moton, Big Bear, Licorice Soul and EMI and may or may not be behind a few secret bootlegs.
