sky broadband..

Ive go question on the Sky broadband thingy dunno if any1 knows. Can anyone tell me whether the 'wireless box' you get with it also takes 'wired' connections ie does it also take Ethernet 10-Base T? or do you have to use USB? or is it wireless only?
Im trying to get my parents signed up to this to move them into the 21st century

besides, since bt have been released their prices are gonna plummet at the end of the month, all the "third party" isp's are eventually going to cruble as they wont be able to compete with bt now that they can practicaly give it away.
Company i work for is one fo the 13 telco's in the uk, which means our adsl circuits are just that, "ours" we enable exchanges, something that only 6 companies in the uk can actually do due to the costs.
talk talk and the like i would steer clear of, come 5/6pm they are almost useless.

I'da thought (hoped) it'd piss 10-BaseT...
Get yersel a couple of wireless cards & twill be reet (& much faster than 10Mb on the LAN side, prolly 100 at least)

done a bit of homework on this , and talk talk is not all as it seems , they say speeds of up to 8 meg , which in my case is clearly a load of shite lol , if i was to go with talk talk i would get speeds of 512k :| i checked this out on here

So anyone wanting to go on this whack ya postcodes in them checkers and see what stats ya get , you may get full if ya near to a telephone exchange but if u aint then its gonna be same as mine = SHITE
Anyways , ive stayed with telewest and they have given me half price BB and PHONE for 6 months
Also im led to believe that sky are pretty much the same as they will be using bt lines for your BB , so i would check that out too

However the distance from exchange has been and is soon to be further extended so the postcode checker aint all its cracked upto be, also if you are on a subexchange you may get incorrect info pertaining connections speeds.

cheers for the info guys, gonna steer clear of the talk talk shite then, might check out an see what BT can offer me then for BB and a phone, not into all the millions of tv channels, got freeview and that suits me
MMM... im confused im needing a quicker broadband package and im not sure which one to go with i do have sky and there deal seems ok but ive not got the full package (the top one) does that change my elidgabiltiy to there broadband packages?

just means you have to go on one of the capped services, i think they give you like a 50gb per month limit or summat, but speed wise no you can got for top speed still.
