well its a year at the end of this month that i started the gold membership scheme. within that year ive managed to pretty much clear the debt the forum had clocked up the few years previous 
this time last year we were about £1200 down (altho the resident accountant the joker will be able to supply actual facts and figures lol) and now i think after the last payment were only about 30 golden nuggets short of breaking even
aswel as clearing the debt, weve had the extra money to add the radio facility to the site, this has been a great addition as im sure ya will all agree.
other additions ive been able to add to the site in the past year are a gallery script which will be a flyer archive, this is currently getting loaded with flyers, i think there was about 700 at last count (northern star n sj are doin a great job soldiering away on that un)
also ive managed to get some SEO software in the past year that basically rewrites the pages so that google bums the site and we then get more visitors. this is improiving all the time, we used to get 20/30 refferals from google a day. now we have 200,000 pages indexed and are getting 300-400 refferals a day that software cost over a ton but over time its something that will help get heads here
weve also got a new server on the way which will be hosted in the uk, the move should be happening over the next couple of months and this should see quicker page loading times etc as the page doesnt have to wazz it over the atlantic
ive been working on a new front end to osa for the past few months and im hoping to have it completed by the end of the year, it will basically make osa into a website and not just a forum, believe it or not 70% of visitors who visit the site leave within 10 seconds of arriving here. this is due to forums being confusing at first to the average joe bloggs, they get to the front page see all that writing get scared and doo one. having it as a site/forum will help the site to grow, it also gives us the chance to have webpages, which means we can have stuff like a tune archive, mix archive, interviews n features etc
since starting the gold membership the site has grown massively, having the money there has given me the chance to do stuff with the site that otherwise i wouldnt, and so a huge reespec is in order to everyone who contributes. the reason why i started osa off all those years ago hasnt changed one bit. i still love it as much as i did then and to be able to use the things ive learnt over the years to push forward something i buzz off so much is mint as fcuk
one thing i aint been able to sort as of yet is car stickers and like small little flyer things that people have requested that they can pass on to fellow old skool mashers they meet on there travels. there should be some extra funds coming in over the next month when peoples year subscription ends and so with now clearing the past debt these are the first things on the shopping list
