I used to love a lot of scratching and turntablism, I also used to love the quick cut ins of some of the hardcore stuff being mixed, then I went to wanting big Sasha progressive mixes and seeking the smooth blends - but then came along this nasty "EDM" paint-by-numbers shit that was just too sterile, and it drove me nuts. </p><p></p><p>What also seems to get my goat is when DJ's insist on fannying around with their digital tracks these days on DJ controllers and laptops. People may argue it is a skill and people have always fannied about with tunes (like the scratching and turntablism), but its getting to the state where some mix sets just get like some Um-Pah-Pah band or some Jive Bunny shit driven over the same beats and dialling up and down the morphing in and out phasers. Seriously, just stop fannying about like kids showing off with a new toy.</p><p></p><p>I went the other way with the diva vocals to some degree....
